Julie came to Iris in 2024 after her first knee replacement with a clear plan: train for a full year to prepare for a second surgery. However, her goals went far beyond just getting through the procedure — on top of that, to reduce body fat, manage her chronic IBS challenges, and protect the active lifestyle she loved, especially her passion for exploration and hiking.
With Iris by her side, Julie trusted the process. Provided with a structured training program and clear nutritional guidelines, Julie was able to thrive both on the gym floor and in navigating her nutrition to keep her digestive challenges under control.

Over that year, Julie’s resilience paid off. Her energy levels improved, joint discomfort decreased, and her stamina during prolonged activities noticeably improved. Then came her second knee replacement in 2025, which many might see as a setback, but Julie saw it as the beginning of the next chapter
In less than a year post-surgery, she wowed her own doctors by jumping right back to doing what she loved most: jetting off to Iceland for a hike. Daily movements that once caused discomfort no longer hold her back. She could now keep up with activities at half the effort of her same-age counterparts.
Now, at 57, Julie continues to push forward. With Iris supporting her, they’re working to further build her muscle mass and perform more advanced movements to get even stronger — something she could never have fathomed just 2 years ago. Julie’s journey is proof that with the right mindset, support, and dedication, it’s only up from here.

“I’ve learned that as we age, strength training isn’t optional—it’s essential for protecting my body and staying active. By working hard before my second knee surgery, I set myself up for a smoother recovery when it mattered most. Now, at 57, I move freely, travel on my own terms, still enjoy my favorite foods every now and then, and know how to eat to keep both my performance and gut health thriving.”
